What's new

Everything that has changed, version by version.

Software you pay for once and run on your own server still has to keep moving. This is the whole record — what's new, what got better and what we got wrong and fixed — with the date each version went out.

How to read this

Release history

  1. 1.7.0

    Latest

    Usage alerts you set yourself

    • New

You set your own alert thresholds — at 50%, at 80%, at 100% of the hours — instead of the two fixed ones that came before.

    • New

Each project can carry its own alerts and override the general ones.

    • Improved

The alerts are translated into all fourteen languages the app speaks.

    • Fixed

The threshold field was cutting off three-digit numbers (110, 1000).

    • Fixed

The licence lock screen spoke only one language; now it speaks all fourteen.

  2. 1.6.0

Licences, and a save that no longer gets lost

    • New

You activate your licence from Settings, with the button right next to the field and a plain explanation whenever it fails.

    • New

The app keeps working for a grace period when it cannot reach the licence server. Your server going offline does not stop your work.

    • Improved

Settings now saves in the background, so the proxy some hosting companies put in front does not leave you staring at a blank page.

    • Improved

      Runs on PHP 8.5.

    • Fixed

Saving Settings without an SMTP username brought down the whole save.

    • Fixed

The captcha appeared in the browser's language instead of the app's.

  3. 1.5.0

    The product becomes Hourexa

    • New

The Hourexa name and look throughout the app, including installations that already existed.

    • New

You can put your own logo in. The name stays Hourexa.

    • New

You turn on two-step verification from your own profile, without going through an administrator.

    • Fixed

On short projects the report chart grouped by week and drew a single bar; it now groups by day.

  4. 1.4.0

An installer that talks you through it

    • New

Help text on every field of the installer, so you know what it is asking for.

    • New

A button that tests the database connection before you go on.

    • New

A warning if the database you picked already has something in it.

  5. 1.3.2

The installation wizard, back in shape

    • Fixed

The installation wizard was drawing out of shape.

    • Fixed

Some screens were missing part of their styling.

  6. 1.3.1

English addresses and a fix for phones

    • Improved

The app's own addresses are now in English, the same in every installation.

    • Fixed

On a phone, long project names were pushing the page out of shape.

  7. 1.3.0

    The package you install yourself

    • New

A package you upload to your hosting and install from the browser.

    • New

The product's own documentation, inside the package.

    • Improved

That documentation folder can no longer be opened from the web by anyone who guesses its address.

  8. 1.2.0

    Your team, from one screen

    • New

Whoever runs the team can change anyone's picture, language and two-step verification, and send them a password reset email.

    • New

A warning before you save if a manual entry overlaps another one, fully or partly.

    • Improved

The TrackingTime importer moves from Projects to Settings, which is where people look for it.

    • Improved

The app is wider, so more columns fit on screen without scrolling sideways.

    • Fixed

The time-zone dropdown was only showing the first fifty options.

    • Fixed

The report you share with the client failed to open in some cases.

  9. 1.1.0

    Fourteen languages and fewer reloads

    • New

Eleven new languages: the app goes from 3 to 14.

    • New

Each person picks their own language and switches it on the spot.

    • New

Manual entries with a start and an end time, and a warning if they overlap.

    • New

Projects with no hour budget, for when you only want to measure the time.

    • Improved

Creating a task or editing an entry no longer reloads the page.

    • Fixed

On a phone, the date and time fields were out of line — on iOS especially.

  10. 1.0.0

    The first version

    • New

Time tracked by project and by client, with a timer and with manual entries.

    • New

A report your client can open, in their own language and downloadable as a PDF.

    • New

Email alerts, sent through your own mail server.

    • New

An importer for anyone arriving from TrackingTime.

    • New

      Two-step verification.

Every version ships as one complete package: you upload the new files over the ones you have and run a single line to bring the database up to date. Nothing updates itself behind your back on your server.
