Free check

Find out if your hosting works. Before you pay.

Hourexa installs on your own server, so the honest question is whether your server can run it. Upload this small file to your hosting, open it in your browser, and you have the answer in a few seconds — the same checks the installer makes. If it says yes, the installer will not stop you.

  • Free, no sign-up
  • Installs nothing, touches none of your files

What it looks at

The things that actually go wrong

Most shared hosting runs Hourexa without a murmur. These are the exceptions, and they are the reason this file exists.

A version of PHP that's too old

The usual suspect on cheap plans and on accounts nobody has touched in years. It is a dropdown in your hosting panel, and the change takes seconds.

Pieces of PHP switched off

Six of them ship with PHP itself, but some hosts leave them turned off. Two matter more than they look: one checks your licence and one lets Hourexa update itself. Without the second, an installation could never receive a security fix.

A server that can't call out

Some hosts block outgoing connections. When that happens Hourexa installs perfectly and then sits locked, because it cannot verify its licence. This is the check that pays for the whole thing.

Address rules that get ignored

Every page in Hourexa goes through one entry point, and it is those rules that get it there. Where they are not allowed, the install finishes fine and then nothing loads.

Two different PHPs on one account

The website and the scheduled tasks can run on different versions. It never shows up in normal use, and then the email alerts quietly stop being on time.

A folder that won't accept files

The installer has to save its settings somewhere. If the folder won't let it, the install stops on the first step.

How to use it

Four steps, about two minutes

1 · Download and unzip

One small file plus a note explaining what to do with it, in four languages.

2 · Upload it to your hosting

Into the folder where you want Hourexa, by FTP or with your panel's file manager. An empty folder gives the most reliable answer.

3 · Open it in your browser

It answers straight away. If something is missing, it writes out exactly what to ask your hosting for — you can copy the wording into your support ticket.

4 · Delete it

A button at the bottom of the page removes it from your server. While it sits there, anyone who knows the address can read it.

One thing it can't check: your database. It never asks for your database details — you would need them to hand, and most people don't while they are still deciding. The installer tests the database itself and tells you on the spot if anything is off. Everything else on this page, it checks for real.
